Madonna's Confessions On A Dance Floor, in its entirety: Self-congratulations, well earned, expressed in music and speed

Madonna’s Confessions On A Dance Floor fascinates me from a speed point of view. To me, it is her, well, Eminem album or Mary J. Blige album—deservedly so, I think. All three: came from literally nothing, trailer parks, donut shops and nasty urban areas to do, long story short, what everyone told them was an impossible pie-in-the-sky dream, and even as a celebrity, being daily kicked in the teeth in words in gossip, on tv, online.

So it is no surprise to me that the age of forty-whatever, Madonna is self-proclaiming victory. Of twelve tracks, Meanspeed music theory expressive categories, or, put simply, “meanemotions” of victory, speed range=119-128 beats per minute (“bpm”), make up eight tracks. There is a song of Enthusiasm aptly titled Push, and three songs at a speed we have just been calling mixed fast—anything over 128.

The title of the last track tells it all, Like It Or Not tells it all: she is saying in song after song: you all have trashed me, but look who is still on top? Who destroyed the odds? As Eminem: what are the chances of some white dude from a trailer park becoming a rap mega-mogul be? One in a trillion? Agent 19.5 is on a special mission and was due to report on Mary Blige’s take on the Madonna on the dance floor issue, but the satellite went out—it happens.

Britney Spears Speed: In The Zone ("kiss" with Madonna) album--elements of speed for all tracks measured and revealed

In 2003, recording artist, singer and songrwriter Britney Jean Spears releases an album called In The Zone.

In The Zone is the fourth studio album by Britney Spears. The album debuted at number 1 (with sales of over 609,000 copies) and has sold 3.1 million copies in the US according to Soundscan and is listed at 3x platinum according to the R.I.A.A.. When it debuted at number 1, Britney broke her own record again by becoming the first female artist in SoundScan history to have her first 4 studio albums debut at number one. (She previously set the record for her 2001 number one album Britney.). However, the album became her lowest selling studio album to date in the United States. Despite the fact it was her least commercial successful album of original material, In the Zone had more success with singles in the US than its predecessor; "Toxic" number 9, "Everytime" number 15 and "Me Against the Music" number 35. The album debuted at number 14 in the UK, but later re-entered the top 15 and peaked at number 13. The Album has sold 9 million records worldwide by the end of 2006.
