"Change Of Heart" - Pat Metheny - Best Jazz Composition of the Year, 1991, originally called "E-waltz" performed with Lyle Mays and Steve Rodby, 1987

The version displayed on this speed graph is from Pat Metheny with Dave Holland and Roy Haynes from the CD Question And Answer.
As far as I know, Pat Metheny never recorded the version he was playing with his group in concert during the Letter From Home tour. The Pat Metheny Group had been writing the song together and using the working title "E-Waltz." I heard it first in November 1987 at Radio City Music Hall in New York City--and went back a second night and obtained a ticket, uh, kinda legally especially to hear that one song again. Pat: why no recording??!!
The Question And Answer version of Change of Heart won the Grammy for best jazz composition in 1990, years after the Lyle Mays/Paul Wertico/Pat Metheny version.
