The Marvin-Gaye-Effect: In action, Natalie Merchant, 10,000 Maniacs-"What's The Matter Here" meanemotion=enthusiastic. Terrible dramas, but not mine!

The song expressed in pure speed on the charts above is called What’s The Matter Here? and is performed by the 10,000 Maniacs. The song represents the Marvin Gaye Effect in full action. In the song, Natalie Merchant tells the story of horror: a child is being beaten with (a) barbarity and (b) in public and (c) no one is doing a thing about it! All turn a blind eye in this song’s lyrics.
Yet, it is a gentle song at the speed of natural. How much parts of an explanation for such are mainly these, in my opinion: (1) though the songs are about negative circumstances, such circumstances are not affecting the band or singer, and (2) someone else’s pain is always easier to bear than our own. And there’s the make ‘Em a saint factor! Face it: people to this minute revere Marvin Gaye as a “saint,” and any of you who have been lucky enough to see Natalie in concert have seen her fans that are, well…fans beyond fans—she does indeed have a [saintly aura]—I’ve seen Natalie Merchant twice in concert and one of her shows—October 1995, at the Beacon Theater on the Upper West Side of NYC, blocks from John Lennon's house and garden, the Tigerlily Tour—she put on one of the most amazing displays I’ve ever seen—she danced and sang in a frenzied and controlled perfection, and by the end of the concert she was passed out a la Janis Joplin or, at times, Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen.

The MeanFrequencies™ of What’s The Matter Here are interesting in that the beats per minute multiplied by 256 divided by 60 yields literally the pitch equivalent of the note ‘Ab.’ See, Stephen Jay's Theory of Harmonic Rhythm, as linked as a single from the CD MTV Unpugged, 10,000 Maniacs are:
meanspeed=97.3 beats per minute.
meanemotion=enthusiastic
meanspace=617 milliseconds per beat.
meanphase=1.62 cycles per second.
meanpitch=415.147 Hertz, 1/2 cent below G#4/Ab4=415.305 Hertz, 99 1/2 cents above A4=440 Hertz.

Happy Birthday Sting & Michael Rutherford of Genesis & Mike And The Mechanics of course!
